Now Ended First Term Of Office. Press Association —Copyright, Washington, Jan. 19. Mr. Roosevelt’s first, term of office as President drew to a close to-day through a consitutional amendment changing the date from March 4 to January 20. An atmosphere of gaiety and confidence prevails on- the eve of the celebration of the inauguration of his second term, contrasting sharply with the despondency and gloom of the 1933 banking crisis.
