WELSH NATIONALISTS
Each Sentenced To Nine Months’ Imprisonment. Press Association —Copyright. Received noon. London, Jan. 19. Seven hundred Welshmen arrived by a special train in London to attend the retrial of the Welsh Nationalists. Extra police were drafted to marshal the queue, which was the longest they had seen outside the Old Bailey for years. When asked it they understood English, the accused shook their heads. Evidence was called to prove that Lewis and Valentine both spoke English. The Judge enlisted an interpreter to assist Williams, who intimated that he declined to recognise the Court’s jurisdiction. A verdict of guilty was returned, and each of the accused was sentenced to nine months’ imprisonment in the Second Division.
