Strange Action of American President. Press Association—Copyright. Washington, January 18. After an hour with President Roosevelt to-day. Senator Minton announced that the President intends soon to call a conference of Congressional leaders to agree to legislation to curb the powers of the Supreme Court to invalidate Acts of Congress, particularly by votes of five to four, by which many “new deal" measures were lost. Senator Minton declined to disclose the type of legislation President Roosevelt favours but said that

he personally wants an Act requiring at least seven of the nine justices to concur before voiding any Act.
