CHEMISTS GATHER.
Meeting Of Pharmacy Board In Auckland.
For the first time for about 45 years members of the New Zealand Pharmaceutical Board met in Auckland on Monday. Th e meeting, which has presided over by the president, Mr H. J. S. Rickard, of Wellington, was fully attended. Among those present were Mr J. A. Pond, of Auckland, now over 90 years of age, who was a member of the first board in 1881. lie briefly addressed those present and received the congratulations of the board. In the evening at a formal gathering at the Lyseum Club the visiting New Zealand and overseas delegates' who are in Auckland to attend the conference of the Pharmaceutical Association of Australia and New Zealand, were the guests of Mr and Mrs T. W. Irwin and Mr and Mrs Edward Smith. The visitors were doubly welcomed, first by Mr Edward Smith, and again by Mrs T. King, who gave them a Maori welcome. During th e evening vocal items were given by Messrs 11. T. King and Finlayson, and supper was served.
