WOOL IMPROVEMENTS
Chlorination Process Reached Commercial Stage. London, December 14. The Wool Industries Research Association’s report announces that a chlorination process for producing unshrinkable wool has reached a stage at which comemrcialisation is possible. Additional improvements are expected as the result of a recent investigation into bleaching with sulphite solutions preventing yellowing after washing. “Much attention,’’ the report adds, "has been given to the scientific measurement of the characteristics of wool fibre, which is the basis of a scientific study of wool between .the workers of different countries and may establish very' fruitful contact between th© manufacturer and the pastoralist, enabling the wool grower to supply the manufacturer’s wants.
