SATURDAY HOLIDAY
EFFECT ON COUNTRY Cardiff Farmers’ Protest Defeated. A motion of protest against the introduction of Saturday half-holiday at Stratford, forwarded by the Cardiff branch, was defeated at the meeting of the Stratford executive of ■ ‘ the Farmers’ Union to-day. He was personally in favour of the Saturday half-holiday, said Mr. . H. Law, who proposed the motion. The Cardiff branch, however, was opposed to the change, and had voted against it by a large majority. Mr. M. Davies said that if the men in business had come to a ■ mutual agreement it was not for them to interfere. The motion was seconded ,by Mr. H. A. Hunt but was lost on the voices.
