LOSS TO STRATFORD.
Mr. S. W. Whyte Leaves For Waikato. ,
Mr S. W. Whyte, with Mrs Whyte and their two sons, left Stratford last night for the Waikato wherte they will reside in the future.
Mr Whyte, who has for the past four years been lands representative to the Stratford branch of the Farmers’ Co-operative Association, was farewelled yesterday by a gathering of the staff of the branch. Mr W. E. Williams, manager, who made a presentation of a pipe and tobacco pouch, said that in Mr Whyte's departure the firm was suffering a double loss. They’ -were losing a first class businessman and one who had become a valued friend to all with whom he had contact. He was sorry to see Mr Whyte go but he hoped he would have every success in his new sphere . Mr Whyte said that he would In many ways be sorry to leave Stratford. It had always been a pleasure to work' with the staff o! the branch and in leaving the .town he would be severing many friendships.
Appreciation of the work done by Mr Whyte as president, was expressed at the annual meeting of the Petrie Shield Committee on Wednesday night.
