PETRIE SHIELD TENNIS.

Date For Start of Competition Fixed.

Play in the Petrie Shield tennis competition will start on December 19, it was decided at the annual meeting of the committee on Wednesday night. One round will be played. Teams will consist of four men and four lady players. For the convenience of country clubs, there will be a break after the first match, play resuming on January 23. The entry fee was fixed at the same as last year. Officers elected were: President, Mr. L. G. Mclnnes; secretary and -treasurer, Mr. H. E. Lawrence; match committee, Messrs. R. Boyd (Methodist), N. Ennis (Stratford), H. G. Addenbrooke* (Ngaere), J. S. Reid (Radnor), C. Wilmshurst (Douglas), Redshaw (Cardiff). Messrs. Mclnnes, Lawrence and Addenbrooke were appointed a committee to arrange the draw.
