STRATFORD B OVERWHELMED.

ALL OUT FOR 69. Old Boy's Innings Yield 234. Stratford B team was overwhelmed in the match against Old Boys at Hawera. Stratford took first knock, Tucker and Aldredge opening. Tocker was caught by Sheerin, off Kelpe at 7 and Aldridge, after hitting two fours was run out. Pollard opened in spectacular style with a six but became Kelpe’s second victim at 11. From then on the rot set in, and al5 by Clements and 12 by Dunlop were the only redeeming features. Stratford’s innings closed with a total of 69 which th« Hawera team doubled soon after the fourth wicket had fallen. When the tenth man, Mennin, wals bowled by McDougall, with a score of 21, Hawera’s total was 234. Bowling honours went to Kelpe, who took five Stratford wickets for only 14 runs. Dowdle’s innings was the most spectacular of the day and produced 79 runs before he was bowled by Pollard. His punishment of Hickey’s bowling was particularly severe. In one over he hit five sixes. Clements with four wickets for 36 headed the Stratford bowling figures. McDougall appeared to be suffering severe punishment at times but: his three wickets for 45 runs was a valuable contribution.
