Town planner gives talk
The Taupo section of the Royal Forest and Bird Society was addressed by Mr P. Crawford, town planning officer for the Taupo County Council, at its last meeting. Mr Crawford mentioned points which should be watched for when buying a section. For instance, he had known incidents where people came to the county with their plans only to be told that half their section was planned for a reserve. In planning a garden, neighbours had to be considered. Trees must not be planted where they _ would cause inconvenience. Mr Crawford finally spoke of the right of { individuals to protest about such things as unsuitably placed motels or other buildings. The council would always give consideration to interest shown, in these matters, he said.
