One committee to handle sports
The Taupo borough and county councils have agreed that a single consultative committee be set up to handle matters relating to the promotion of recreation and sport in the area. Ten members — five appointed by each local
authority — will make up the Taupo committee. The initial term of their appointment will be two years. The councils' joint planning committee felt no limitations should be imposed on the functions of the consultative committee.
