Vote at 18
Eighteen-year-olds will be able to vote in the municipal elections in October. The deputy tovvn clerk, Mr R. Little. said the Bill had been passed by Parliament some time ago but the legislation only covered the local elections. "As yet 18-year-olds will not be able to vote in the general election next year but I understand that the Government has plans to change the legislation," he said.
