POLICE SCENE
REMANDED A 29-year-old carpenter, Edward Paki, was remanded in custody to the next sitting of the Taupo Magistrate's Court when he made a brief ' appearance before Mr W. J. F. Warner J.P. in the Taupo court on Tuesday on a charge of burglary. The charge relates to an offence committed at a house at Two Mile Bay in October, when $2700 worth of goods were taken. BURGLARY Cigarettes and soft drinks valued at $189 were stolen when Mathies supermarket in Rifle Range Road was broken - into between 1 1 a.m. on Sunday and 8 a.m. on Monday. Entry to the shop was gairjed by smashing a partition above the rear door. A small ajmount of cash left in **- the cash register was not touched. The Taupo C.I.B. is investigating the burglary.
