Taupo Players Prominent
Taup/> players achieved notable success in the South Auckland women's open golf championship tournament at St. Andrew's Hamilton, last week. Mrs E. Barling won the Frazer Cup, a match-play event decided on a handicap basis among the second 16 qualifiers. Mrs Barling, who played off a 14 handicap, also won the second division long-driving competition and collected a prize in a twos competition. Mrs Barron Dawson won three prizes — the best second division nett score in the qualifying roun'ds, the best stableford in the afternoon qualifying round, and in a twos competition. Mrs Dawson has played excellent golf in recent
weeks. Before going to Hamilton she reduced in handicap from 18 to 15 and, back at Taupo on Thursday, she reduced again to 13. The third member of the Taupo team at Hamilton, Mrs C. Letford, was also a prize-winner. She captured the St. Andrew's flight event.
