PROBATION FOR THEFT
Appearing for sentence on two charges of theft, Desmond Lawrence Anderson, 29, an Australian labourer living in Taupo, was fined £15 on each charge and placed on probation under special terms for 18 months, when he appeared in Taupo Magistrate's Court last week. For failing to attend camp for military training, Leonard Sinclair Bray, 22, Taupo driver, was fined £4. A fine of £12/10/- was imposed on John Charles Phippen, 36, Taupo mechanic, for driving while disqualified. His period of di^qualification was extended for one year and Mr Donne also ordered that he take out a prohibition order for a period of one year. Harley Phillip Thomaasen,
1 18, and Cecil George le jComte, 17, Motuoapa chainmen, were fined £40 each and placed on probation for one year under special conditions for unlawfully taking a car. They were also disqualified from obtaining a driver's licence for 12 months.
