Fire Protection At The Airport

Fire protection facilities at the Taupo Airport are considered. adequate, but as an additional safety measure the chief fire officer of the Taupo Fire Brigade, Mr S. K. Christensen, has recommended that storage capacity for 5000 gallons of water be provided. The recommendation was made after Mr Christensen

had accompanied a Department of Civil Aviation official and the assistant borough engineer to the airport to discuss fire precautions. Taupo Airport Authority has decided that the borough engineer, Mr W. K. Kiddle, should investigate variouF alternatives for the water supply and report to thc authority.
