Burned In Fire At Turangi

A tallyman employed by Ministry of Works had his hand burned yesterday when attempting to beat out flames in a hut at the entrance to the industrial block. He was Mr M. Dobbyn, of Turangi, who was given first aid treatment for his injury. Mr Dobbyn had left his hut for a few minutes and returned to find the panelling and an end wall blazing. The fire started from a small stove used in the hut and, fanned by strong wind, burned out the end of the hut. Turangi Fire Brigade attended the fire and extinguished the flames.
