Pleased With Progress On
New School
TURANGI (OC) The Tokaanu District High School ParentTeachers' Association held its monthly meeting at the school last Thnrsday evening. Mr S. Beauchamp, the vice-chairman, acted as chairman in the absence of Mr F. McCracken. Mr G. W. Grave, the headmaster, expressed satisfaction at the speed with which the Ministry of Works had completed the new primary school. Problems related to traffic hazards were discussed at some length and Mr F. Stevenson expressed the hope that the Ministry of Works would complete the bus bay at the new school at an early date.
The guest speaker was Constable B. Dunn, recently of Mangakino, and now stationed at Tokaanu. Constable Dunn talked of his experiences at Mangakino and how much he had enjoyed his years there. He looked forward to a similar interesting and enjoyable time at Tokaanu and Turangi. Mr I. Bennett moved a motion of thanks to Constable Dunn for his informative talk. The association decided to hold weekly card evenings at the school, the first one early next month. Form I. girls acted as hostesses at supper at the conclusion of the meeting.
