Inspection Of Sites At Turangi
turangi (oc) Mr P. Amos, Member of Parliament for Manurewa, and Mr B. MacDonell, Member for Dunedin Central, arrived in Turangi last Wednesday to take a look at what has been going on in the area over the past few months. They were aceompanied by Mr J. Newbold, president of the Taupo branch of the Labour Party and Messrs J. Millett and P. Paerata, of Taupo. The party met Mr J. Bennion, the resident engineer, and visited the information centre before making a tour of the project. The Tokaanu site was visited and the party then travelled to Lake Rotbaira to inspect the tunnel portal site.
