H. Mullins had a day to remember when he carded two two's at the Taupo Golf Club on Saturday. He took two trophies in the twos competition, in which other prize-winners were V. Wilson, L. O'Connor, H. Oliver, T. Halverson and P. J. Potter. A stableford competition was decided in two grades, with A. Kunac winning the A section with 39 points and R. W. Weir taking the B division with 36 points. Kunac won the A grade stableford scramble with B.

Halverson and V. Wilson, both 37 points, taking the minor places. The B grade stableford scramble was won by R. W. Weir from D. Pattenden and R. Davis, each 35 points. On Sunday afternoon R. Alpe and T. Leech returned the best cards of 36 points in the A grade stableford with Alpe winning on the count-back, G. Dust won the B grade stableford with R. P. Wilson runner-up. The ladies' stableford competition was won by Mrs T. Leech, 35 points, from Mrs N. George, 28 points.
