First Real Link Says Mr D. D. Davis

There was a gradual switch in Taupo's afffliation from Hawke's Bay to the Bay of Plenty, Mr D. D. Davis, of Taupo, told the: Bay of Plenty Savings Bank annual meeting at Te Puke yesterday. The Taupo branch of the bank marked the district's first real link with the Bay. The results were, perhaps, a little disappointing at present, but it was a growth area, and as it consolidated! its investments would grow. The president of the bank, Mr R. L. Reeder, Rotorua, said it was not expected that every branch would run at a profit. Mr P. H. Leonard, Rotorua, said: "Prior promotioo had a lot to do with it Taupo did not have any promotion in the early part' of it." Later the meeting heard that the bank will be able; to lend money on mortgag j in the near future. -
