TAUPO MAN'S DEATH
Mr George Albert Lishman Mr George Albert Lishman, manager for a number of years of the Lake Hotel, Taupo, died on Friday morning last, August 19. Mr Lishman had relinquished managership of the Lake Hotel a few days earlier and had been staying at the Spa Hotel, "Taupo, prior to taking over the Grand Hotel, Te Aroha. In the early hours of the morning Mrs Lishman called Mr J. W. Birnie, licensee of the Spa Hotel, saying that Mr Lishman, who had appeared to be in normal health on retiring for the night, was ill. A doctor was called but could only pronounce life extinct. An inquest was opened later before the Acting-Coroner, Mr R. H. Ward, J.P., and adjourned sine die after formal evidence of identification.
