HINEKUKU C.W.I.

The monthly meeting of the Hinekuku Country women's Institute wa^ held in the Hall, Mrs Becker presiding over a good attendance. The meeting" opened with "Comrades and Friends,". the Aspirations being read in unison. Mrs Robb read the motto "Always be proud enough to be humble." Mrs Ohlson demonstrated a child's easy-to-ironN sun suit. _ The Roll Call, uWhat I do on a wet day,M caused some amusement. Competitions winners were as follows : — .^lending, Mrs Ohlson 1, Mrs Becker 2, Mrs Makene 3; Decorated saucer, Miss Beams 1, Mrs Makene 2, Mrs Becker. 3. The Social halif-hour competition was for the most articles in a match-box. Three ladies tied for first place, v with 145 articles each. The meeting closed with the singtng of the Ode.
