Barn Dances. The Sports Queen Committee, in view of the popularity of its Barn Dances, has decided to stage another such function at the Barn, Rotokawa Road, at 8 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, December 18. ❖ ^ Christmas Eve. On Christmas Eve the Sports Queen Committee is to stage a local show in the War Memorial Hall in which paintings, etchings, sculpture, collections, models and photographs of local industries will be on display., Exhibits of any type will be welcomed. Father Christmas will attend> and every child who pays for admittance will receive a gift. ^ Speedboat Regatta. The Citizens' Queen Committee states that some of the fastest boats in the country will definitely be seen at the speedboat regatta on Monday, December 27, and the appearance of one of the two fastest is possible. Novelty items will take place between events, and there will be a Grand Bathing Beauty Contest.
