FOUR SHOPS BURGLED

ALAN McLEAN AT TOP OF BURGLARY LADDER On Wednesday morning last Mr Alan McLean found that his shop in Tongariro Street had been broken into for the fourth time in two years. A few items of clothing were taken. Miss B. Coley's shop was also broken into on the same night, and a small amount of cash taken.

On the following night Mr J. McDonald's premises in Story's Buildings were entered, but the intruder failed to obtain entry into the shop itself. Mr Bob Ying's shop in the same building was entered and some £5 in cash and a quantity of goods stolen. Mr McLean claims that he is now at the head of the "Burglary Ladder," with four breaking-and-enterings to his debit. Mr Mc~ Oonald, with three burglaries infficted on him, is in second plaee.
