Building Sitei Plans. In a report to the Borough Council the Building Inspector, Mr. G. ! M. Crickett, stated that the absence of site plans for a number of building permits was due to the fact that while these had not been submitted with the applk-ations for permits, applicants had promised to supply them, but had omitted to do so. The Council passed a resolution instructiiig t.tat in future no building permits be issued until the site plans were received, and that this b° strictly enforced. ^
Tongariro Street Parking. The Businessmen's Association wrote to the last meeting of the Council enquirxng as to the road markings for parking in Tongariro Street. It was decded to write the Ministry of Works Engineer, Rotorua, asking that the gravei be swept off the road margins to allow the parking signs to be painted, and also re the painting of 30 m.p.h. warnings on the highway at both approaches to the town. ❖ ❖ ❖
Holiday Side Show. An application to the Council for the sole rights for a side show in the town area from December 23 to January 7 was received from the Maori Queen Committee. PermisI sion was granted subject to the approval of the Queen Carnival Central Committee. ❖ ❖ ❖ Municipal Camp Caretaker. A number of applications for the position of caretaker of the Municipal Motor Camp were received by the Council at its meeting on November 17. Mr C. B.' Dent, of Taupo, was appointed. ❖ ❖ ❖
• 3 I Sports Ground Development. Cr C. S. Currie enquired at the last Council meeting as to when the development work would be started on the Sports Ground. The Mayor, Mr J. E. Story, referred to the need for machinery, and said that nothing would be gained by starting before the holidays. It v/ould be sown inj grass in the following spring. Cr Vedder queried whether autumn sowing would not be bettqr, remarking that spring sowing in Taupo was very "iffy."
