HAND IN HAND WITH PROSPERITY

The conviction that prosperity was hand'in hand with advertising was expressed by a New Zealander on his return from a recent world tour. f In the United States, Canada and England, he said, the volume of advertising in the newspapers was in ratio to the prosperity of those countries. In Spain, for instance, where poverty was rife, there was also a scarcity of advertising. A tnarked difference between the newspapers of east and west Germany was also noted. In the west a good volume of advertising was carried, while in east Germany there was relatively little, once again demonstrating the growing prosperity of Western Germany.
