PROPOSED LOANS
MONEY FROM NATION AL PROVIDENT DEPT. I v The Deputy-Mayor, Cr J. D. Swan reported to the Borougji Council, at the meeting on July 7, on enquiries he had made in Wellington, at the request of the Mayor, Mr J. E. Story with regard to obtaining the money which would be required for the proposed Hydro-electric Supply Loan and the proposed War Memorial Hall Loan. The amounts ai?e £48,000 and £5000 respectively. Cr Swan stated that he had seen several lending institutions and that he had been successful in arranging for the full sum of £53,000 to be advanced by the National Provident Fund when required. Cr Swan was accorded a vote of thanks for his efforts.
