TOWN BOARD MEMBERS
Miss Katharine O. Lewis. "In offering myself for election to the Taupo Borough Council I undertake to do my best in the interests of the ratepayers and other citizens. If returned, the progress of our Borough in the right direction will be my chief aim at all times, as it has during my term of office now ending. I can assure the women voters particularly that I have their interests very much at heart, and that if elected I shail do my utmost to justify their trust in me." * * Mr W. G. Morris (sen.) "In offering my services to the citizens of Taupo for a further term, I do so with a full realisation of the responsibilities attached to the position. I consider that major works, such as roading, etc., should be done out of loan money, so that future citizens may enjoy the better facilities offered and also the added responsibility of paying their share. I have greaf faith in the continued progress of Taupo and say that with wise administration we can have a borough second to none." ❖ ❖ Mr J. D. Swan. "The reason for submiting my name for consideration by the electors at the forthcomiing election is that I would like to see Taupo grow and prosper for the benefit of all residents, ratepayers and, visitors, along planned lines, with water drainage, sewerage, sealed roads, etc. With that objective in view, it is my sincere wish to serve the Borough in the future as I have endeavoured to serve the Board in the past. Being retired and having no business connections in Taupo I will, if elected, have plenty of time to devote to the Borough business on the electors behalf." !k & Sfei
Mr K. E. Young. "In offering myself for election to the Borough Council on October 31st I do so feeiing that the record of the last Town Board, of which I was a member, needs no apology. I feel that there has been more genuine progress during the last three years than at any other period of the town's history. As a member of the Work's Committee of the present Board I consider that I have been of practical assistance in furthering the progress that has been made, and if elected will continue to give of my best in the interests of Taupo."
