Yesterday, October 1st, marked the opening of the fire season throughout the Taupo Country. Fuli particulars of the various Fire Districts will be given in the next issue of the "Times." While residents who r.ecall the disastrous fires which raged for weeks during the 1946 summer will probably not require the warning, we would remind newer residents that no fires may be lit out of doors during the fire season without a permit.
