BASKETBALL SEASON

Opening Matches Three basketball teams, Huka, Crusaders and School assembled at the Taupo District High School courts for the opening day of the basketball season. All the girls were in good form and put on an excellent performance. Passing was quick and decisive and although the goaling in all games was desultor'y at first, the girls soon brightened up. The teams were evenly matched in spite of the vast difference in scores which were as follows: Crusaders 15 beat School 2. Huka 16 beat School 4. Referees for the day were P. Stewar*t, B. Walters and S. Laughton. The draw for Saturday next is as follows: 1.30, Huka v. Crusaders; 2.30 School v. Huka. All players are asked to be at the School courts promptiy.
