HOME AND SCHOOL EFFORT
MISS RICKiT'S GOOD WORK The Taupo Home and School Association, which has in recent years done much to help the School Committee and School staff in their wcrk for the good of the children of Taupo, recently decided to raise money where with to purchase a cinema projector with sound equipment. A. ta;rget of £100 was set, which would he subsidised by the Education Commission' £ for £. - The jofe of collecting sub- 1 scriptions for this objeet was theri. undertaken on. behalf of the Association by Miss E. Rickit. Up to a day or two ago, Miss Rickit had colleeted ninety pounds. An enqulrer then approaehed Mr J. R. Osborne, Headmaster, asked how the fund was progressing, and was told that another ten pounds was wanted. "But wre don't expect you to give it all," said Mr Osborne, jokingly. But that is exactly what the generous donoir did, stipulating however that his donation should rernain anonymous. In this happy way were | Miss Rickit's efforts crowned with suc- j cess and the hoped-for amount ' secured.
