MOTOR CYCLIST INJURED

Ooubie Ambulance Call About six p.m. on Saturday, May 23rd, a passing motorist, Mr Donald Alfred Saunders, of 11 Maning Street, Hamilton, s&w an unconscious man lying on the left-hand side of the road, about two miles south of the Oruanui Post Office, A 2i h.p. motoreycle was lying beside him. Leaving j his wife with the injured man, Mr S'aunders proceeded to Wairakei and repoited the matter to the Taupo Police Station. Constables E. H. Rowland and D. Mills, with Dr Richards, Went to the scene. The injured man, Eric Vosper, of Mokai, was attended i by the Doctor, and was still uncon- j scious when the ambulance left for : Rotorua Flospital about eight-thii ty. | It was thought that his machine had j skidded in loose pumice and hit the | bank. Carpenter's Unusual Accident About half-past six on the same j evening an unusual accident was suf- : fered by Mr Alexander Erskine, car- 1 penter, of Taupo, which necessitated ! his being sent to Rotorua Hospital j on the same Ambulance trip as the injured motor-cvclist. On his arrival

at his home Mr Erskine stepped down from his motoi'-truck onto a piece of timber. The other end of the timber sprang up, hitting his left leg with sufficient violence to break it. He was attended by Dr Richards. The ambulance was driven by Mi Ray How, with Mr Harold Franklin as attendant.
