dave macnicol cup With. the fishing season in its last month interest in the annual competition for the Dave Macnicol Cup, presented to the member of the Waitahanui Angling Improvement Association who takes on the fly the largest hsh of the season, in or at the mouth of the Waitahanui, is heginning to warm up. The leader at the present time is Mr Albert Hutt, of Waipawa, with a fish of over nine pounds to his credit, but many others are still trying and hoping. Over last week the fish taken at Waitahanui, while in good condition, were perhaps a little smaller than those taken during the previous fortnight. About ten o'clock on Friday night last tremendous quantities of pumice again came down the Waitahanui, from the big slip that has caused so much trouble this season.
