MONDAY HAS MAJORITY Fhe informal poll of residents taken by the Taupo Businessmen's Association, in order to ascertam the Mrishes of the public with regard to the day which should be fixed for the weekly closing day for shops, aroused considerable interest. Unfortunately the Times was unable to obtain the figures of the votIng results, as the Committee of the Businessmen's Association decided not to disclose them to the public until tney had been before a meeting of the Committee. We understand, however, that the number of votes polled was approaching five hundred and that the counting* following' t'he close oi: the poll on Saturday last showed that a large majority had been given for Monday as the weekly closing day.
