HOME & SCHOOL ASSOCIATION

' ANNUAL METTING The Annual General Meeting of the Taupo Home and School Assoeiation was held on March 17th. There was an attendance of twentyfive, and apologies were received from Mrs Arihia Rarneka, Mrs Henry Rameka Mrs Stewart, Messrs A. J. B'uckleigh and J. • Dixon. Mr J. Kellett acted as CHairman in the absenee of the President, Mr Brown. The PresidenCs report mentioned! the major activities of the year.. Six executive meetings were held, attendances being as- follows: — Mesdames k^iirray and ITowie, Messrs | Mahanga and- Osborne, 6; Mrs Stew- ! art, Mr Dixpn, 5; Miss Rickit and Mrs Bait, 4; Messrs Bucjdeigh, C-offey and Kennedy, 3; Mrs Baker j and Mr Brown 2. Tvvo film evening s tvere held, for which Mr L. E. Pearse kindly provided the projector. There was an entertainment evening, a talk by Professor Bergelin, and visits to Waipahihi and Nukuhau Pas, while the ball held in Juiy was an outstanding success. It is hoped that this will become an annual event. Grants to School. The major assistance given to the School was a grant of £125 »for the library, on which the Committee obtained a further £125 as subsidy, and. a further grarit of £20 for summer sports gear. The meeting suggested to the incoming Executive that a film trip projector be provided for the School in the near future and that it be financed by donation. Tho cost would be £68, of which the Assoeiation would have to find £34, on which a subsidy of £34 wrould be payablev A subscription list is in preparation and it is hoped that all interested in the School will send donations to the Secretary. The Chairman gave special thanks to the leaders of the Waipahihi and Nukuhau Pas. It was pleasing to note the increased interest and it v^as hoped that attendanees would eontinue to grow. New Executive. ^ The folloy/ing were elected to the Executive for the ensuing year: Piesident, Mrs Baker. Vice-Presi-dents, Miss Rickit, Mrs V. S. Pearce; Secretary-Treasurer, Mr A. Kennedy; Auditor, Miss Wehringo; Committee, Mesdames A. Calkin, Jenkins, Howie, Miss Walters, Mr J. Dixon. A cirtula1 letter is to be sent out giving details of the Assoeiation and its work and membership fees..
