GOLFERS START SEASON

The taupo Goif Club held their opening day of the new season on Sunday , March 15th, under ideal weather conditions. Mr L. E. Cheal president, welcomed the visitors and membeis', and referred to the good condition of the course, thanking the captain, Mr K. E. Young, for his haid work, which is now showing excellent results. A mixed foursome Stableford was played, resulting in a tie between Mr and Mrs Ryan and Mrs George and Mr P Brown, with 33 points each. The latter pair won on the count back. The men's mateh was won by CoL Robinson and Mr S. Jones (Hastv ings), with 33 points. A delightlul afternoon tea was provided by the ladies. Ladies' Club Opening The Taupo Ladies' Golf Club opened their season | on Thursday afternoon last. A Stableford was played, and the best scores being Miss Branson, 34 points; Mrs Hullten 32; j Mrs K.
