DRAMATIC SOCIETY'S SPARKLING SOCIAL The Taupo Dramatic Society openeid its new season on Wednesday night last with a bright social evening for members and all others interested in drama. An audience of over a hundred showed their enthusiastic appreciation of the programme provided. Four bright one act comedy sketches were presented, ali of which were weil puit on and the parts well taken. "Storm in a TeaTip>5 was played by Charles Leslie, Grace Booth and Beiyl Kennedy; "Private Drama" by Jyan Dixon, Hedley Gibson. Charles "Leslie, and George Anehor; "The Robbery" by Vera Casson and Wally Fulford; and "Your Face is Familiar" by Sally Kent, Hedley Gibson and Dulcei Oohen. Musical items given were two piafto accordion duets by ooy Smith and Bruce Howard; piano solo by Dr Jean West, and piano duet by Dr J ean West and Mrs Sherwood, all of which evoked appreciative applause. Dulcie Cohen ^ presented a mirthful monologue "There's a Burglar in the House", in which she lived u,p to the expectations of those who saw her in "Blithe Spirit," Following ari excellent supper dancing became the order of the evening With Hedley Gibson at the piano.
