AMBULANCE CALLED OUT
/ TWO ACCIDENT CASES The Taupo St. John Ambulance Brigade's ambulance received two calls last week and in each case a patient had to be taken to Rotorua Hospital. On Thursday of last week Mr James Rawlinson was caught by a rolling log at Taupo Sawmills, and attended by Dr Richards, who ordered his removal fo Hospital. Aged about 70, Mr Rawlinson is well known as an axeman of the kauri days. Mr L. Edlin was the ambulance driver, and Miss Y. Hill the attendant. On Friday last a motor cyclist, NMr Gerald Cummings, aged 26, carpenter, Waiouru, was involved in a collision with a car driven by Mr Barney Daniels, of Wadestown, about 18 miles from Taupo on the Atiamuri Road. He suffered a compound fracture of the right leg. Mr Daniels improvised a. splint for the injured limb and then. brought the injured man to Taupo where he was attended by Dr Blois and taken to Rotorua Hospital. Mr L. E. Reid drove the ambulance with Miss D. Stewart as attendant.
