CLAY BIRD SHOOT
The inaugural clay ibird shoot of the Taupo Gun Club took place on January 4th. There was a good. attendance of competitors from. far and near, and very favourable commentg were passed on the club's site for s'hoots and on the prospect^ for the future. The results (Open Sweepstakes), were as follows: — No. 1 Match (5 birds) — Messrs Lightfooit, Curtis, Newton, Mayo, Wanstone, Wood, Weatherley, and Felts, divided the pool, at £1 1/each. No. 2 Match (10 Birds) — Messrs Curtis, Hart, Mayo, Wanstone, Felts, £4 12/- eaeh. No. 3 Match (10 Birds) — Messrs Lane, Weatherley, Rehton, Prentice, £4 11/3 each. No. 4 Match (10 Birds) — Messrs Vv anstone, Weatherley, Felts, Davis, Ireland, (Dalziel, Dodds, Ellison, Fletcher, £l 8/3 each. No. 5 Match "Gimcraek") — Messrs Lane and Benson, £4 10/- each.
