The turhine for the main generator of the Hineniaiaia Power Station is now in Auckland. The main valve controlling the turhine, weighing six tons, has a large cast-iron casing, which is being m:ade by one of the best-known firms in England. Advice has just been received from this firm that the first casting was found to be defective, necessitating the making of another and as a result of this the new casing cannot leave England until March.
