LIGHT FOR TAUPO SOON

POWER LINES NEARLY READY The high tension line from the Power Station to the transformers at the corners of Ruapehu and Horomatangi Streets, and Gascoigne and Paora Hape Streets, was completed yesterday by the reticulation contractors, Messrs Lysaght and Sullivan. The low tension line from the latter transformer to the new motor camp at the Old Orchard site is now being erected, there being only six poles required. Work is being pushed on with the low tension line to Rickett's Hall and the Domain in order to have power available as soon as possible for the holiday period. Every effort is being made to extend the line to connect Mr A. M. SmitlTs bakery, where two electric ovens have been installed. The completion of these stages of the scheme is now dependent only on weather conditions.
