END OF GOLF SEASON
PRIZE-GIVINO, TAUPO CLUB Despite the fact that it was Labour week-end (which has a bad reputation for weather), Sunday, October 26, was a bne sunny day, and golfers started arriving at the club house before 9 a.m. A fourball Boge y mateh was played in the morning, and was won by Messrs P. Redwood, of Auckland, and C. Vedder of Taupo, with a splendid score of 8 up. The Mixed Foursome in the afternoon attracted a large entry and was won by Mr and Mrs Hullten, with a score of 63 nett, whiie Mr and Mrs Falkner did a 64 nett, Mr and Mrs Iles of Tauranga and Mr and Mrs Redwood of Auckland did 65's.
The special prizes for this event were kindly donated by Messrs Henry Williams & Sons, of Napier. After afternoon tea, the president, Mr Cheal welcomed the visitors, and then asked Mrs Cheal to present the piizes to the winners of matches played through the season, as follows: — y Ladies' Bogey matches: Mrs M. Bush. Ladies* senior and junior stableford (prizes given by MrS Douglas): Mrs Falkner and Mrs Douglas. Neame Trophy, (presented by Mr and Mrs Neame): Miss Branson. Forster Trophy: Miss Branson. Ladies' Winter Cup: Mrs Douglas. Ladies* Foursome: Mrs Hullten and Mrs Young. Ladies' Tauhara: Mrs Young and Mrs George. Ladies' Electric, presented by Mr Falkner: Miss Branson. Men's Winter Cup: Mr D. jj. Falkner. Men's Fourball Challenge Cup: Mr A. Graham and Mr D. J. Falkner. Men's Tauhara Cup: Mr Woo(|ward and Mr Vedder. Men's Electric Prize: Mr Falkner. Neame Trophy: Mr Falkner. Captain's Trophy: Mr K. Ramelca. President's Trophy: Mr D. Neame. Patron's Trophy: Mr & Mrs Hullten.0 , Mffler Cup: Mr O. Wright. Runner-up, ladies championship ; Mrs Hullten. Ladies' championship: Miss Branson. Runner-up, men's junior 'championship: Mr Neame. Men's junior championship: Mr L. Stephenson. Runner-up, men's senior championship: Mr E. Smith. Men's senior championship: Mr K. Ramelca. The ladies' closing day, Thursday, October 30, was very wet and the rain ^ was so heavy that it was impossible to play. A gift afternoon for Miss Achushla Orr had been arranged, and members and friends had a most delicious afternoon tea after which Miss Orr opened many interesting lookjng parcels.
