WAR MEMORIAL HALL ASSOCIATION
EXECUTIVE MEETING An Executive Meeting of the War Memorial Hall Association was held at Mr t>. Armstrong's Office on Monday, October 13th. The Chairman Mr Stevens, opened the meeting by welcoming the Organiser who had been "out of circulation" for two weeks. Photoigraphy Rights. — A letter was received from Mrs K. Reid applying for sole photography rights at all function held during the coming Carnival. It was unanimously agreed that Mrs Reid be given these rights. Shingle for Site. — The Secretary was instructed to write to the Town Board applying for permission for members of the Working Bee to carry loads of shingle to the Hall Site. Maori Day Programme. — The Organiser and Mrs K. Reid are going into this question and will report progress at our next meeting. Helpers for Carnival. — It was suggested that each other ' Organisation send in to The Secretary the name of a member or members willing to help in any capacity. Organiser 's Report. — The Organiser statecl he had been approached by a Showman who is prepared to bring down Merry-go-rounds, etc., and possibly a miniature train, for the Carnival period, proceeds to be divided on a percentage basis. The Executive gave the Organiser authority to proceed with ihe necessary arrangements in this cunnection. * Celebration for the Initial Switching on of Taupo's Own Power Supply.— It was suggested that some festivities might be arranged for this great day in Taupo's history, provided the Town Board were in acccrd. The Secretary was instructed to write to the Town Board for permission to organise some suitable celebration. The Hall. — Of necessity tenders have been extended to October 29th., because of amendment to plans, regarding ceiling trusses. Dates of Meetings. — Hen eforth Executive meetings will commence at 7.30 p.m. Members are requested to note that as next meeting falls on Labour Day, the Executive will meet on Thursday, October 23rd., at 7.30 p.m. All willing to help in any capacity in the arrangements for the coming Carnival are requested to send in their names to the Secretary, Taupo War Memorial Association, Taupo.
