TAUPO GOLF CLUB

The sixth and final round of the President's Trophy was played on Sunday, October 5th. The following were the best scores: — D. Neame, 69; L. Cheal, 70, D. J. Falkner, 70; E. M. Smith, 72; H. R. Gibson, 72; A. Hills, 75; A. Graham, 75; S. Neame, 75; R. Beale, 76; J. Woodward, 76. The Trophy was won by D. Neame, whose four best scores totalled 285, with C. Vedder next with 288. D. J. Falkner and E. Smith played off for the Neame Trophy, Falkner winning with 36 .points to Smith's 31. In the semi-finals of the Junior Championship, S. Neame beat D. Neame, 2 up, and L. Stephensen beat J. Woodward 4 up. The ladies played a Stableford bogey on Thursday, October 9th., which was won by Mrs Hullten with 32 points. A. M. Smith and P. H. Brown played in the Wairoa H.B. Tournament, when Smith qualifi-d for for the championship but was beaten in the first round by A. Smith, who was the wilmer in the final in 1951.
