TAUPO POLICE COURT
Before Messrs Y. T. Fail and J. D. Swan, Justices, John Hall, previously convicted on an idle and disordly charge, pleaded guilty to a charge of being a rogue and a vagabond, with no visible means of support. Constable E. Bowlands, for the police, stated that the accused had been arrested when under the influence of liquor. At Hamilton in June last, on conviction of being idle and disorderly, Ihe had been placed on probation and declared a prohibited person. Hall was sentenced to two months hard labour. John Cappell Hopkins, with a previous conviction of breaking and entering, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two months hard labour on a charge of being idle and disorderly. Constable Ro\$ands, for the police, told the Bench that accused was a prisoner out on licence from Rangipo Camp. He had been employed by the Ministry of Works, but his habits had deteriorated, and he had become idle. He had been warn°d. to pull himself together and find a job, but had made no effort to do so.
