NEW LOCOMOTIVE FOR KINLEITH
Forest Products' Enterprise Another step forward was taken in N.Z. Forest Products^ pulp and paper project at Kinleith when theii new Drewry Diesel lccomotive, recently landed at Auckland, set out on its 144-mile journey early Saturday morning (August 30th). . It was driven by a crew supplied by the Rail* ways Department. Its speed is limited during the "running-in" period. iSpecial arrangements were made so jthat the journey of the locomotive would not conflict with regular train time-tables. It will be used for sfcuriting logs, sawn timber, machinery, pulp and paper and other supjplies on the company's 21 miles of j standard railway sidings at the ne\^ , Kinleith industrial centre. The locomotive is 211ft. iong, and 11ft. 5:n. high and is rated to develop 153 h.p. at 1200 r.p.m., and weighs over 20 tons.
