TAUPO GOLF CLUB
The only championship match played on Sunday, August 30th, was between J. Woodward and H. Hullten, in the first round of the junior championship. Woodward won the match at the 18th. The 'Captain's Trophy competitioB has reached the last round, the following games having* been played: First round— J. Miles beat O, Wright, F. Sherning beat I. Potts, K. Rameka beat E. Smith, S. Neame beat E. Ryan. Second round. — J.. Miles beat F. Sherning, K. Rameka beat S. Neame, Miles and Rameka, therefore, playoff for the final. Three out of four matches in the first round of the ladies' championship were played on Thursday, SeptembeK 4th. Results were: — Miss Branson beat Miss Orr, 6 and 5; Miss McKelvie beat Mrs Vedder, 5 and 4; Mrs Hullten beat Mrs Young; 6 and 5. Mrs Logan and Mrs Douglas has not played yet* On Sunday, September 14th, the fifth round of the President's Trophy series will be played.
