MAJESTIC THEATRE

BANDITS, SMUGGLERS, AND COMEDY ROMANCE Exc.itement and comedy make up the attractions scheduled for screening at the Majestie Theatre this week. Tonight (Wednesday), there will be presented a Western feature by Warner Bros., in technicolour, "Return of The Frointiersman." The plot is based on a murder frame-up, a goal-break, and the round-up of toughs, with innocence triumphant as a climax. In the oast are Gordon MacRae, Julie London, Rory Calhoun, and Jack Holt. MacRae breaks new ground when he changes over from using his baritone to flourishing a six-shooter, and scores yet another hit. On Friday there is a change from the wide open spaces to the secret iairs of the smugglers. In "Customs Agent," described as "a n amazing drama of the U.S. Customs and Coast Guard war on international smugglers." This has documentary value through the cooperation extended by the U.iS. Treasury in the making of the film. The stars are William Eythe and Marjone Reynolds in an excellent Columbia production.

The Saturday feature Is the M.G.M. comedy-romance in technicolour. "The Duchess of Idaho," with attractive musical embellishihents, and Esther Williams, Van Johnson and John Lund as the stars. Here there are romantic situations, musical hits and colourful settings enough to raise the gloomiest Jeremiah from the depths of his depression. All three features of the week are passed for universal exhibition.
