In a letter to Miss D. M. Cohen, of the Taupo Book Club, Miss "Jay" says: "The first copies of 'Taupo Times' reached us yesterday, it was a thrill to have them! We have now settled down in a funny little Regency ;house not far from Marble Arch, and we are ouite pleased with it, though all our friends say: 'Wait till winter comes and then you will Rnow what it is like trying to heat a house!, However we are making what provision we can against the cold, at present it is hard to imagine that it ever is cold. We had a heat wave for the first ten days after our arrival, and it is still quite warm, though rather dull most days." ★
